A brief summary

Chocolarder is a small team, incredibly passionate about making some of the world’s finest chocolate.

We’re looking for somebody with a passion for quality products and an interest in learning all about chocolate. This will be a somewhat physically demanding job, with heavy lifting and working with machinery.

We are looking for a highly motivated team player, who is happy to work both as part of a team and alone when required and has a good track record of time management and working to deadlines.

We source cacao direct from the farmers, allowing us to make chocolate from scratch without compromising at any step of the way.

Founded by Mike Longman in 2012, Chocolarder has grown as Cornwall’s first chocolate maker from home kitchen to our current Falmouth factory. Now our small team is looking to grow further and take on new challenges.


Who are we looking for?

There are only a handful of chocolate makers in the country, we are looking for somebody who is keen to learn and play a key part in the production of Chocolarder’s chocolate, all the way from bean to bar for it to be shipped around the world.

We are looking for a highly organised and passionate person capable of seeing the bigger picture while still having attention for every detail. They need to be flexible enough to take on the varied challenges of our exciting growing business.

The role will be based in Cornwall, but with a requirement to travel from time to time to events nationally, so you will need to be flexible. We are a small team in a growing business and so being a fast learner, have a constructive attitude to overcoming challenges and the ability to always work in clean and tidy manner are important.


What are the job requirements?

Key responsibilities:

Dispatching and managing deliveries both within the UK and abroad

Taking shared responsibility for managing and delivering web orders

Learning the process of chocolate making from bean to bar, sorting, roasting, cracking, winnowing, grinding, refining and conching.

Pouring bars, packaging products and ensuring high standards are maintained.

Follow cleaning schedules and maintenance procedures according to the specific machines and equipment.

Follow production plan and assist with meeting deadlines.

Help with factory tours when they are able to run.

Represent the company at events both locally and nationally as required.


Experience of working in a fast pace environment

A passion for the food industry who knows and loves food

Keen to learn with a can do attitude

Able to stand all day

Highly organised, flexible and adaptable in a fast-changing environment
